Top Rope Belay

The Top Rope Class at Odyssey is designed for climbers who are ready to move beyond the autobelays and learn how to belay.

In this 1.5-hour class, our staff will teach you the core skills needed for top rope belaying, including knot tying, climbing commands, partner communication, belay technique, and safety expectations.

After completing the class, you’ll have time to practice your new skills before returning to take your belay test. Once you pass, you’ll be able to top rope belay in the gym.

Participants must be 14 years or older.
