Lead Climbing and Belay

The Lead class at Odyssey is designed for experienced climbers who are ready to take the next step beyond top rope climbing.

In this 3-hour class, you’ll learn the foundational skills needed to lead climb and lead belay in the gym, including clipping technique, lead belay skills, partner communication, and safety expectations.

After completing the class, climbers should continue practicing through mock leading before taking the lead test. Lead tests cannot be completed on the same day as the class.

This is an advanced class and participants should have strong climbing experience. We recommend climbing consistently for at least 6 months before signing up.

Participants must be 14 years or older.
